The proposed sense4maintain (s4m) project goals to deliver and maintain an integrated European inclusive Industrial Maintenance Optimiser (IMO) platform prototype which monitors near realtime, visualises and integrates the diagnostic of machinery conditions, for the provision of support services informing (1) the maintenance personnel, to make the appropriate preservation and the optimal operations scheduling and (2) the machinery designer, to amend the critical tasks and the fragile parts to (a) allow high reparation cost and (b) production stoppages.
This will be achieved through (1) including Intelligent Sensing Entities (ISE) from the machine design stages, (2) sensing event computing for detecting anomalies and malfunctions, monitoring personalised Machinery Diagnosis (MD) and (3) Machinery Prognosis (MP) models and algorithms to prevent and predict machine failures and prescript personalised machine treatment, (4) “re-training” collectively the system with previous experiences, to progressively gain sensibility and accuracy, (5) building up an Internet specific Sensing Events Detection (SED) “semantic-images” database and logical application's repositories for periodic IMO
updates with more perception capacities and upgrades with more intelligence capabilities, and (6) realising individual/collective analysis of historical data for the identification of parameters of failure and critical components and (7) simulate and optimise the maintenance planning and operational scheduling for the provision of advises.
The IMO platform will be designed and developed in collaboration with machine designers, maintainers and manufacturers, and will be deployed in real-usage manufacturing factories to validate, evaluate and demonstrate features and performances, as well as assess the socioeconomc impact. The novel and open solution will raise a knowledge space and market for machine manufacturers and maintainers, assuring the continuous development and sustainable extension throughout Europe, exploitable by SME based on training courses and a SME driven business plan.
