Proposal summary

You can not go anywhere in the tech industry without hearing that women entrepreneurs face challenges. The discussion continues everywhere that women are outnumbered and underpaid compared to their male counterparts and there is a need for more female coders. Wouldn’t it be more productive and fruitful to focus on building start ups than focusing on the challenges. What best way to do this than to inspire others by example. This is a time for female entrepreneurs to inspire by building, transforming and leading by example in the tech world.

Our project sets out to create a framework to award and recognise female leaders in the tech world who do just that. We propose to organise a pan-European Awards Ceremony for leading female tech entrepreneurs in Web and Mobile Applications (WMA).

The project objective is therefore to build and maintain a Pan-European platform to nominate, promote, vote upon, host and organize an annual Awards Ceremony recognizing the “best of the best” European Females in WMA based entrepreneurship.

Nominees must demonstrate that they have WMA businesses with high growth potential, mentor and actively support other females (including students) to become involved in WMA based startups and to stand out as leaders in their chosen field. All shortlisted nominees and overall winners will be fully documented and their experience and life learning shared through a host of online and offline multimedia channels. They will essentially become champions for success among fellow entrepreneurs (irrespective of gender). They will serve as inspiration to others to become motivated to engage with the tech sector.
