as natural computational sequence and logical consequence

Proposal abstract:

SensITs aims to use information derived from the real/virtual world to develop Intelligent
Sensing Entities (ISE) that (1) are aware of the environment, (2) can detect and understand the
meaning of sensing events conveyed by environmental information, and (3) can provide locally
and remotely useful services to the society in an improved, bio-inspired way.
This will be achieved by means of semantic-spectrograms embedded with the meaning of
the sensing-event detected. This will allow the use of all the image and video technologies for
the experimentation, hence the development of logical and natural live process of ISE.
SensITs strives to investigate, develop, implement, experiment and validate an Information
Technology (IT) framework of methods and models that set on semantic spectrograms or
graphics with meaning and will be able to acquire, detect, process and understand sequences
of sensing events as humans do. This framework will provide ISE living on the Internet with
multi-sensorial capabilities - audition, olfaction, vision, and other human and extra senses –
and develop their perception capacities, semi-driven learning abilities, cognition and reasoning
capabilities and functional faculties. These individual and independent ISE will have live-being
faculties – develop, act, learn and evolve - on the virtual/real future Internet environment.
SensITs builds an incipient platform prototype for the proof of concept, features and
performances of these evolutionary ISE and their additional awareness services provided to
humans who will utilize ISE to overcome sensorial limitations.
This involves technologies concerning semantic graphics for sensing-events detection,
representation and processing to experiment natural life models of artificial intelligent
entities.
This knowledge space built will open new experimental areas for computational models of
artificial intelligence: cognition, reasoning, learning, behaviour and adaptation.
